Message meant the slave cyl piston has hit the very bottom of the bore and can not retract any further. And the test for that was to loosen, or remove, the slave and see if the clutch fork moved to a more engaged position with free play.
I believe Ghoztt had another interpretation.
Bottom line is to see if the clutch hydraulic system is keeping the clutch partway disengaged or if the problem is in the bell housing area.

Replacing the master and slave may very well be necessary, but if the problem is in the line between master and slave the issue will not change. It would be nice for you to know ahead of time which circuit is the problem child.
